4th term

Can you believe we're in the last term of the year???
I hope you all got much nachas from your child over the yomim toivim!

This term we will be concentrating on the Parshas of Sefer Beraishis.
Each week we have learned the story of the Parsha and we have done a craft and baked a cookie reflecting what we have learned.

I am concerntrating on end of year assessments and reports.
It is quite incredible to see how each child has matured and developed in all areas over the year.

On the 25th November at 9:00am we will be doing our end of year concert! The theme is Torah -Sefer Beraishis. All the songs we're singing and the lines we're saying are all about the Parshas- Beraishis, Noach and Lech Lecha.

I look forward to the last few weeks of our year together!

Thank you so much to Morah Dina who taught our class while I was away!

As you can see our beautiful mitzvah train on our class doors... we have been learning about the mitzvah of mezuzah and the mitzvah of learning Torah! Look at our mezuzah's that we splash painted, they are on the mitzvah trains!!

Each of us coloured in our own mezuzahs and cut them out! the class skills are improving so well and the growth and development in each child is so evident!

We learned all about the 5 books of the Torah and the 613 mitzvos, we painted and decorated our own Torah's!

For last week's parsha we coloured in tzedakah box pictures and cut them out as well!!

Aleph Beis treasure hunt

On tuesday the children went on a treasure hunt.

Morah: What is a treasure hunt?

Eliezer: It's when you look for a treasure.

Akiva: I think I am gonna find a key inside.

The children search for the hidden treasure!

Yoni found the treasure!

We went back into the classroom and the children each got a chance to hold the treasure and guess what's inside. Chocolate, barbie, monsters, a monkey were just some of the guesses.

Moshe opened the treasure box!
"ALEPH BEIS!!!!!!!!"
The children were soo excited! Each child took a letter andwent to their seat. We discussed that this treasure is extra special as it is a treasure from Hashem. We discussed that learning Aleph Beis is our tool to learning Torah and reading a chumash and siddur.
We learned that this learning should be sweet like honey. The children each got to lick honey off the aleph beis chart.
We then got to learn the letter Aleph. Morah Dini came in and sang Aleph Beis songs with us and we mentioned the children's names who start with Aleph. The children were extremely excited through out and will continue to be learning the letters of the Aleph Beis.

shavuos is coming

Here we are enjoying our sandwiches!

We've been counting the days until we get the Torah!

On our wall is a biiiig Har Sinai! We all painted big pieces of paper brown and then our Morah stuck them together to make our Har Sinai.

The we painted flowers in red orange and pink. Morah stuck them onto our Har Sinai with number 1-49 for every day we count in sefira.

We learned a lot about Har Siani- we sang the mountain song- which helped us to learn about the mountains fighting for Hashem to give the Torah on them. But Hashem chose Har Sinai because he was humble. we also learned about how special our Torah is. We sang "Little Torah" and we sang "Hashem gave us a present" which taught us that all the other nations didn't have time for torah but we, the yidden, said "na'aseh ve'nishmah"

We've learned about the Luchos and we coloured our own luchos, next we stuck them onto cardboard covered in tinfoil, and put cottonwool around them as the beautiul clouds that were covering Har Sinai. The Luchos was our introduction to Aleph Beis!

On another wall in our classroom is milk - all yummy foods that we eat on the first day of Shavuos.
